Who this holiday retreat is for:

This retreat is for men who are keen to find out more about themselves in a safe, non-judgmental environment. No problem if you've never done yoga before, or if you are an experienced yogi who wants to deepen your practice, everyone's welcome. We'll be practising naked, no exceptions, so you'll have to be comfortable being naked around other naked men. You're welcome to be naked whenever you choose, though bear in mind it's the UK... it might be freezing outside!  It's a great opportunity to escape busy lives and relax in beautiful surroundings with other like minded naked men.

Why naked?:

Yoga is about deepening our understanding of ourselves, the world around us, and our place in that world.  Without the physical shield of clothes it's much easier to connect with that sense of self as we can more easily put aside the mental shield we all have in our daily lives. We're all on the same level, so no judgement can be made about who we are by the outward signs we choose to cover ourselves with.  Meditating and practising yoga whilst naked as a member of a group of other naked men is a life-affirming and deeply liberating experience.

What's included:

  • three nights accommodation in a shared room, single beds. Some rooms have bunk beds, some are en suite, some are shared bathroom. One room is 5min drive down the road.

  • four yoga and guided meditation sessions each day.

  • fully catered by executive level local chef.

  • access to the secluded ancient orchard; an outside yoga space and ideal for sunbathing naked if the weather allows.

What's not included:

  • getting to the venue.  There's ample parking at the back of the orchard, but car sharing is preferable.

  • yoga accessories such as blocks and straps.  If you like to practice with these, please bring your own.

Pricing:

£300 based on sharing a twin/triple room.

The Yoga/Meditation:

There will be four sessions each day. All are optional, it's your holiday!  We'll start each day with a gentle wake up moving meditation.  After breakfast there will be a more engaged session taking us up to lunchtime.  The afternoons are free time and I'll be in the chapel available for one to ones, questions, drop ins etc.   Then a more dynamic session before dinner, and a quiet meditation after dinner to take us to bed time. I'll be supported on this retreat by the lovely Andrea. He'll be offering adjustments and assists during my sessions and will be leading a session.

The Venue:
We'll be guests of the Yorke Trust at their delightful venue, The Creake Centre. The Yorke Trust is a registered charity dedicated to bringing classical music to children and students from all walks of life, to perform together and enjoy music away from the pressurised atmosphere of university or school. The money they make from this retreat will go directly to the work of the charity.

I'm so lucky to have just spent the week

There are two main buildings that comprise The Creake Centre. The Old Chapel, a Grade II listed building dating from 1738 with its former Sunday School Room, which will be the indoor venue for our yoga and meditation sessions, and a one-time public house, The Old Norwich Arms, that provides accommodation for up to thirteen people.  As a charity, the accommodation is basic but functional.  I'm afraid you won't find Molton Brown cosmetics and rainforest walk in showers,  but you will find comfortable beds and hearty meals.

Camping:

The beautiful orchard provides ample space to pitch a tent, and a number of guys have asked about camping.  You are welcome to bring a tent if you would like, though your booking will be for a room and you will have a bed to retire to if the weather is inclement.  Ask for more details.

Orchard for Camping

Getting There:

There's plenty of parking in the orchard, but we'd prefer you to car share if possible.  By car is really the best way to get there. The nearest station is King's Lynn, approx 20 miles away.

The Food:

We'll be looked after by a professional chef, who will provide a healthy breakfast, hearty lunch, and delicious dinner.  Meals will be served in the dining room of the Old Norwich Arms or in the courtyard if the weather is fine.  Please let us know if you  have any special dietary requirements and we'll do what we can to accommodate.

What to wear/Bring:

It's a naturist retreat, but bear in mind it's the UK  so it might not be very warm! The chapel and accommodation are well heated, but there's a very short walk through a corner of the orchard and across a courtyard between the two (see the photo above). You may be naked at any time from the first session until it's time to go home.

How many students will there be?

The retreat is limited to 10 yogis.  I expect demand to be high, so get in early!
